E.B. Harding: Canadian Writer - Biography & Books

Eric is a Canadian who has spent much of his adult life living abroad. Before turning to writing, he built a career in technical work—precise, demanding, and logical. It paid the bills and sharpened the mind, but left something restless and unfinished.

Later in life, he changed course.

Photography came first, teaching him how to look and wait, how to notice what others pass by. Writing followed—not as an escape, but as a reckoning. His work is shaped by distance and displacement, by the quiet unease of living between places, and by a lifelong habit of asking how systems fail and people endure.

He writes across genres—crime, historical fiction, speculative and literary work—but his stories share a single impulse: to uncover what lingers beneath the surface. Forgotten histories. Unspoken grief. The small human decisions that echo longer than anyone expects.

Eric lives and works abroad, writing about borders—geographical, moral, emotional—and the thin lines we cross when we finally choose the life that was waiting.
